To give an unexpected twist to the legend of PITERA™, we featured manga-inspired elements with mixed reality outside a sake brewery in Tokyo. This campaign showcased an explosive energy of positivity amidst the unique juxtaposition of traditional crafts with modern ultra-pop and technicolour sensibilities. It was deployed across markets in China, South Korea, Singapore and Japan.

SK-II limited edition Facial Treatment Essence was dressed in a manga-inspired design by Brooklyn-based Japanese artist - Fantasista Utamaro. Unlike other thicker serums, it is lightweight and contains 90% PITERA™, a miraculous ingredient that helps you to achieve crystal clear skin.

The legend of PITERA™ started in a sake brewery in Japan where a chance observation of an old Toji's miraculously youthful-looking hands with a stark contrast to his wrinkled face unlocked the secret to the power of PITERA™.  This legendary moment was re-enacted outside the brewery on a surreal, futuristic street of Tokyo.

To emphasise on the power of PITERA™, we showed how it dynamically lighted up the street with fantastical and mystical Japanese patterns.

BEAUTY KEY VISUALS

Chun Xia and Ayase Haruka was featured on the street of Tokyo, with neon light effects casted on them. The focus was on their crystal, clear skin.

CAMPAIGN ICON

Inspired by neon lights on the streets of Tokyo, the typography was crafted with brightly glowing, electrified glass tubes.
